and the fun continues
So we got some snow. *shrug* It's New England, what do you expect? Of course, all this snow came as my father and brother were attempting to fly to different places.
My family will probably never travel by plane again, with BOTH my dad and my brother losing their luggage. Un-frickin'-believable. But for the next few days or so, it's me and my mom running the house. Which means "Do my bidding!"--I've been doing a lot of errands.
I also managed to completely screw up my back while shoveling, and my left shoulder has decided to get in the game as well. Yay heat and advil.
Since last we met, we had a major holiday. It ruled a lot. The bro was here, and while sometimes we rub each other the wrong way, we had oodles of fun. Saw the fambly up in Haverhill, which was very nice. My cousins just keep growing. Aunts and uncles are cool n' whatnot.
I got a lot of awesome stuff for xmas, far too much to list. The highlights, however, are as follows:
WEST WING SEASON 3! (If I had gotten nothing else, I would have been happy.)
A new messenger bag, with the US Postal Service Cycling Team logo on it (super cool)
fuzzy socks
a new purse
and books, books, BOOKS! I love books. And I got a ton of CDS, so I now have lots of delightful music, all of which needs to get on my iTunes and copied for friends. Highlight of the CDs is definitely my This American Life Greatest Hits: Crimebusters and Crossed Wires compilation, which has my FAVORITE Sarah Vowell bit on it.
Brad got me a really awesome book about the Red Sox ("I figured there was always room for another book about baseball") and really nice earrings. I'm not hugely into jewelry, but I would wear these every day (and have, since I got them).
Went up to visit Brad, and was quite surprised that his town was better plowed than mine (kind of annoyed, actually!) Had a lovely afternoon/evening/night with him and his family, went to dinner, saw a movie, did some hanging out. Brad returned the favor yesterday, spending a lovely afternoon with me touring MY town and watching movies on the couch.
Lots of errands remain, and my back is hating me a whole bunch. Off to start my day...
